June has been an absolute joy to have. She’s a goofy little girl that loves to play with her foster dog brothers and running around the yard with the kids as well. She’s still learning that the cats don’t want to play the same way the other dogs do but she’s not overly obsessed with them. She likes to settle in for bed with a nice belly rub and is absolutely loving the house life for sure!!

CALLIE (Caliente)

Energy: Medium-High, very playful

Dogs: Yes

Cats: Not tested yet

Kids: Yes

House Trained: Yes

Basic commands: Yes

Crate Trained: Yes

Known Issues: None

From her Foster:

Callie (Calliente) is a sweet and spicy one, she has no fear and wants to investigate everything. She is very sweet and lets everyone knows what is on her mind with a variety of barks, yips, squeals and other noises that cannot be described. She loves to stir the pot get all the other dogs involved in wrestling or playing and then hide like they are being mean to her.

Callie has huge puppy dog eyes, a dainty frame with feet that do not match and an innocent face that is very decieving. She is VERY proud when she finds “new” treasures. Her favorites so far include socks, Paper Towel and Toilet Paper, She will go into cupboards and drawers to find the best stuff. Her nose leads the way, and it is VERY good at finding food that you may think is out of reach, but she is part acrobat and will find it!

Callie was one of the 5 babies found foraging and surviving on their own in the dump. Her little spirit and smart brain is no doubt what kept her alive to be rescued!

SOPHIA

(one of our “dump babies”)

*smart, balanced, sweet*

Age: 4 Mos

Breed: Hound mix?

Cats: Yes (current foster cat grooms her and takes naps with her)

Kids: Yes

House Trained: Yep!

Basic commands: Yes

Crate Trained: Yes

Known Issues: None! She’s perfect

From her foster:

Sophia is one of the smartest pups I’ve met. Sophia is such a sweet girl who takes everything in stride. She is smaller then her brother and other dogs in the house, but has no problem keeping up and playing hard. She is so gentle with the cat, follows her for a sniff and carries on her way. Sophia is amazing in her crate, and likes sleeping in it during the day with the door open and at night with it closed. She is very food motivated, so is learning some basic commands quickly (come and sit so far). No toy/food aggression and frequent shares her food bowl with the other dogs. She will take the odd shoe but has not chewed anything and will leave it when told. Sophia loves people and kids. She has adjusted very well to life in a house with very minimal accident and when she does she will use the pee pad.

ROVER

4-6Mths old male mediun size Hound mix

Neuter and vaccines included

High energy boy, learning boundaries with dogs, has not met cats, children he loves.

From their foster:

Rover

Are you missing socks? Mysterious smells around your house? Unsolved snack disappearances? Well, have no fear, Rover is here! This hound/beagle mix takes his detective work very seriously—his nose is always on the case. Whether it’s tracking down the latest kitchen crumb or solving the mystery of “Who’s been sitting on the couch?”—spoiler alert: it’s always him—Sherlock is always on the go.

A connoisseur of fine sniffs, he’s a busybody with a flair for loudly SINGING his investigative reports. When he’s not hot on the trail, he’s keeping you up to speed with the latest in neighborhood gossip (aka barking at squirrels, the mailman, and possibly that leaf that moved suspiciously).

If you’re ready for a four-legged detective who never clocks out and will definitely keep your life interesting, Rover is your guy. Just don’t expect any unsupervised snacks, but do expect loads of cuddles and snuggles

NAVY

NOVA

NAVY & NOVA
(sisters)
hoping to keep together but will consider separating them for the right homes

Age: 2 Years
Sex: Female
Location: Ottawa Valley, ON
Spayed: Yes
UTD vaccinations – Yes/will be on adoption
Breed: Lab/Great Pyrenees
Size – L (Navy 60lbs, Nova 70lbs)
Energy: Medium
Dogs: Yes
Cats: Unknown
Kids: Yes
House Trained: Yes (and they have free access to house when humans are away)
Basic commands: Yes
Crate Trained: No
Known Issues: They can be a little protective of each other when they are not sure of things, but that will settle as they get comfortable in their new homes
Tricks: They will both give kisses prior to any meal (at a time, they sit, I’ll put the bowl down, turn and get smooches, the “ok!” And they can eat)

From their foster:
Navy and her sister Nova are incredibly bonded. We have been working on short-term separation by walking each of them with one of ours, but they are still nervous and agitated without the other around but improving. We’re really hoping we can find them a home together. They’re also very protective of each other, with our own (often mis-mannered dog). Nothing bad, just verbal and over immediately. As they settle it’s not really happening anymore.
They are incredibly sweet and love everybody. Navy, especially, is very taken with our daughter. She even sleeps in her room with her at night. We’re still getting to know them, but they both have the typical pyr attitudes, and will bark at all the things, especially once everyone’s in the house and settled. I think they’re “on guard” then. Again this is something that settles as they get used to the normal sights and sounds of a home. They’re both such sweet girls, and they really just need a good home where they can be together.
